Abstract

This paper focuses on the internationalisation of the U.S.-based Baby Bells. More specifically, the paper charts the internationalisation of the Baby Bells between 1984 and 2006. It was found that although the Baby Bells initially embraced internationalisation, changes in their domestic regulatory environment, coupled with the limited financial success of many of the investments, resulted in its almost complete reversal by 2006.
